Oct. 17th, 2013 07:34 amSo one of my friends on FB shared some damn "Because I believe in family, I pledge not to shop on Thanksgiving, everyone should have a holiday" image.
I've got news for you, lady. You don't shop on Thanksgiving, that's fine. I don't expect you to and I'm proud of you for sticking to your beliefs. But you're also assuming that magically means everybody will just as magically be sent home to spend the holiday with their family. Can't speak for everywhere in the employment world, but I know my subsection of hell is far more likely to shuffle us around and invent meaningless tasks for us to do if we're scheduled that day.
Or what about those of us that don't mind working the holiday because hi holiday pay? But I think if I pointed that out, I'd make her little brain explode and I generally like her too much to do that.
