So one of my friends on FB shared some damn "Because I believe in family, I pledge not to shop on Thanksgiving, everyone should have a holiday" image.

I've got news for you, lady. You don't shop on Thanksgiving, that's fine. I don't expect you to and I'm proud of you for sticking to your beliefs. But you're also assuming that magically means everybody will just as magically be sent home to spend the holiday with their family. Can't speak for everywhere in the employment world, but I know my subsection of hell is far more likely to shuffle us around and invent meaningless tasks for us to do if we're scheduled that day.

Or what about those of us that don't mind working the holiday because hi holiday pay? But I think if I pointed that out, I'd make her little brain explode and I generally like her too much to do that.

Fact. I mean, you might stay home all day, but you know who won't? The dumb bitch who forgot to buy MILK or the asshole who doesn't even know what day it is because he works every day since that matters more to him than anything else and all the other douchebags in the world who don't give a shit about anything beyond their own world. I think it's one of the dumber facebook things I've seen in eras.
